Eligibility and Guidelines
Eligibility for Members to Participate
There is only one requirement for a member to become a recruiter through the program: your membership in the greater Carolina Alumni Association must be current.
Eligibility for Non-Members to Become Members
For a non-member to be eligible to become a member through the Every-Member-Get-A-Member program, the non-member must be a:
- University of South Carolina graduate of any campus.
- Former Carolina student with 15 or more hours.
- Friend of Carolina with a significant connection to the university (Carolina faculty, staff, donors, Gamecock fans, parents, spouses, etc.). Contact the Every-Member-Get-A-Member Coordinator.
Member Participation Guidelines
- The opportunity to act as a recruiter for the 2007-08 Every-Member-Get-A-Member Initiative is open to all Carolina Alumni Association members with an active membership. (Sorry, but at this time, student membership is not included.)
- Your new member prospects cannot be active members of the Carolina Alumni Association. The Carolina Alumni Association will verify membership status of all potential new members.
- In the case of duplicate nominations of a potential new member, the first member to nominate an eligible prospect will receive the Member Reward Points.
- The most effective way to recruit new members is to contact those alumni with whom you already have an existing connection or acquaintanceship.
Contacting large numbers of alumni that you do not know will not be an effective recruitment method, and could be an annoyance to those alumni. If we receive complaints about a member's recruitment tactics, that member could be removed from the
initiative. So please be selective and respectful.
- Your Member Reward Points will be credited to you automatically when your prospect’s membership information is processed and dues received.
- Your new members’ membership information and dues must be submitted between
March 3, 2007 and March 3, 2008 to be counted toward the 2007-08 Every-Member-Get-A-Member Initiative.
- Employees of the Carolina Alumni Association are not eligible to accumulate Member Reward Points.
- Terms of participation are subject to change. If they do, we will post them on this Web site.
