Frequently Asked Questions

1. I haven't been in touch with the eligible prospects I want to invite, so I don't have any contact information. What do I do?

You can search for your prospect by using the search function when you login to your member profile. From there, you can add them to your referral list and send them a “blind” e-mail. (This means you might not be able to see the person’s e-mail address, but you can contact them at the click of a button, nonetheless.)

2. If I recruit new members this year, will I be able to hold on to my points and cash in during the next year?

Yes! For as long as the Every-Member-Get-A-Member Initiative lasts, you can hold on to your points. You can check out the rewards here.

3. What if my new recruit gets a lifetime membership? Do I get more Member Reward Points for recruiting a long-term Alumni Association member? What about a five-year member?

Yes! You will receive 250 Member Reward Points for recruiting a non-member to lifetime membership status. You will receive 100 points for recruiting a non-member to five-year membership status. For a full list of membership points values, click here.

4. Can I recruit more than one person?

Yes, but the most effective way to recruit new members is to contact those alumni with whom you already have an existing connection or acquaintanceship. Contacting large numbers of alumni that you do not know will not be an effective recruitment method, and could be an annoyance to those alumni. If we receive complaints about a member's recruitment tactics, that member could be removed from the initative. So please be selective and respectful.

5. I don't have a home computer or access to a printer. But I'm still a member of the Alumni Association with a love for Carolina. What can I do?

You don’t have to be a computer wizard to take part in the program. In fact, most public libraries offer free use of computers, so you can get online and sign up in no time! For further assistance, please contact the Every-Member-Get-A-Member coordinator.

6. Do I need to enroll in the Every-Member-Get-A-Member program?

As a member, you are automatically enrolled in the program. To become an active recruiter in the program, create a member profile and get started!

7. Do I need to keep track of my points or membership status of my nominees?

No. The Carolina Alumni Association membership staff will keep track of your points and the membership status of your prospects. You may view your rewards points and status of each qualified nominee you’ve provided in the My Recruits & Rewards section of this Every-Member-Get-A-Member Web Site.

8. I have a question regarding the program, whom do I contact?

Please contact the Every-Member-Get-A-Member coordinator.

9. How soon will I see points I have earned?

It takes approximately three days after your prospect has signed up for membership for your points to be reflected.

10. How soon after I have redeemed my points will I receive my reward?

You will receive your reward approximately two weeks, if not sooner, after you have redeemed your points. Please contact the Every-Member-Get-A-Member coordinator with questions or to check the status of your redemption.
